The John McGregor Collection appeal

John McGregor (1874–1947) a photographer, working in Strathearn, based in Muthill, was working in the early part of the 20th century but very little is known about him. We are keen to hear any information you may have on the photographer, his life or the subjects of his photographs.

In 2021, in collaboration with Muthill Village Trust, C&SM began fundraising to acquire a photograph collection of about 500 glass half plates and quarter plates. Thanks to one very generous donor, we were able to buy them within two days of the campaign's start. We were both thrilled and relieved and now we are pressing to the next stage.
