Crieff Market Day

Today was our first proper public engagement event, for which we took a stall in the Crieff Market. Despite earlier forecasts of torrential rain, the sun shone and it was a lovely day. The market was not as busy as it has been but we had a lot of interest and we were able to add 56 new names to our list of supporters, which is very gratifying. It was also lovely to hear how enthusiastic many people are for a new museum and how keen they are to see this project progress. We are also pleased to report takings of £32 in the cash collection box on the day.

The photographs of Crieff over the years and the other display items, all of which Bobby Salmond kindly let us use, were a big hit with locals and with visitors. It encouraged us to think more about doing similar pop-up events like this, to display things which are of real interest to people and which are rarely seen outside a cupboard or drawer. We are looking forward to the next event on the 22nd September at the Strathearn Artspace, where we hope to see many more such items of interest and to hear the stories behind them. We hope to see you there.

Below, minding the shop, are Isla Crichton, Ann McIntosh, Andrew Rodger and Marnie Gauld.
